'Mr. Peabody & Sherman' Reaches #1 in The Weekend Box Office
Don't call Mr. Peabody & Sherman a box office failure just yet. After only being placed in #2 last weekend in the box office with a decent $32 million, the film has reached #1 this weekend with $21 million.
This gives Mr. Peabody & Sherman a domestic box office total of $63 million and a worldwide total of $148 million.
While the numbers are not as good as the previous animated films that have been released over the past few months (Frozen and The Lego Movie made more than the current domestic total of this film in their first weekend in theaters), but this is still not a total failure.
I have not seen Mr. Peabody & Sherman yet, so I can't quite tell you my thoughts on the film and whether or not it deserves to be more successful, but after seeing all of these recent animated films being so successful, I kind of expected this film to do the same.
But hey, at least the film isn't necessarily a downright failure. I think it still has a chance to show its worth. Despite many analysts saying that this film is already dead in the dust, I think it still has a shot. Don't be so quick to judge and let's just hope for the best.
