Teaser Trailer for 'Zootopia' Released

Is Disney no longer doing countdowns or official announcements before they release trailers? Because this teaser trailer for Zootopia is yet another teaser trailer, along with The Good Dinosaur, that caught me by surprise. However, this is still a fantastic teaser!

As you can see, this is a very different teaser. It doesn't show any footage of the film or have its own little made-for-the-teaser scene like most other teasers do. Of course, this isn't something that will be in the movie, but it's not what you would usually see in a teaser. Here, a narrator tells us about the world of Zootopia which is done in what I think is a really clever way. It shows us how the world works and how different animals interact with each other, using the two main characters, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps, as an example. Since foxes and bunnies are natural enemies, these two do not get along. This world, despite being made entirely up of anthropomorphic animals, makes perfect sense! This is exactly what this kind of world would be like!

Also, can we just take a moment and talk about the character designs? They are just amazing! I especially loved when, in the teaser trailer, the camera pans out at one point to show us all of the different animals. It's really jaw dropping to see how clever the character design is! One thing I also noticed is that the more agile and quick animals that move around a lot are wearing shorts so they can move more freely. This is a very clever little touch that shows an extreme attention to detail, which is unsurprising seeing as how it's a Disney film.

One key word I have been using to describe what I've been seeing in this teaser is "clever" and that's exactly what this film is shaping up to be. And we haven't even seen that much yet! I cannot wait to see more footage as the months go by before its release on March 4, 2016.
