Pixar recently tweeted the image you see above for the upcoming Halloween TV special, Toy Story of Terror. I am really excited about this. It sounds really interesting and fun. For those of you who are not entirely sold on the idea, perhaps this synopsis will change your mind.
What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror.
The idea of going to a motel has a Shining vibe to it. That sounds really awesome, but makes me wonder. I would assume this would also make the director of Toy Story 3, Lee Unkrich really excited, since his one of his favorite films is The Shining and having the Toy Story toys go through something similar is probably a match made in heaven for him.
